Registration FAQ Directions
The quality of the Kids on Track ministry is dependent on the quality and faithfulness of our volunteer teams and professional staff. We are continually investing time and resources so that the needs of each child
are met. Our structure is supported by our Vision, Purpose and Values.
Vision

To be a safe and spiritually healthy community that assists children in discovering how much God loves them, cares about them and has a plan for their lives, so as they grow they will become a follower of Christ. Kids on Track is part of something
important, leading little people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Every team member shows the love of Christ to those they invest in and serve.

Purpose

To support the family in building a spiritual foundation in the life of a child, so when they are ready, they will accept a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This is the next generation of believers. At Victory Christian Center we believe in
passing the anointing from generation to generation. Kids on Track is where this passing on process begins.

Values

1. Safe and secure environment
Parents trust us with their most precious possessions: Their children. Children thrive in an environment where they feel safe emotionally, physically and spiritually. Kid’s on Track is committed to providing a safe and secure place where children can learn about Jesus.

“Those who fear the Lord are secure; He will be a place of refuge for their children” Proverbs 14:26

2. Christ centered, child significant
Children matter to God and must matter to His church. Kid’s on Track invests heavily in children because it is what Christ did.

"Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me, and do not forbid them; for such is the kingdom of heaven.’”
Matthew 19:14

3. Biblically based
Kid’s on Track lessons are inspired by the Word of God. Every time a story is told, our teachers make sure the kids know that the story is from the bible and it is true.

“You have been taught the Holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right.”
2 Timothy 3:15-16

4. Hands on
Our staff and volunteers must look through the eyes of each child to create a ministry that reaches, teaches, loves children and makes learning fun. At Kids on Track, the children are actively involved with every lesson.

“My child, never forget the things that I’ve taught you. Store my commands in your heart, for they will give you a long and satisfying life.” Proverbs 3:1

5. Relational
Our volunteers form authentic and loving relationships with both the children at Victory Christian Center as well as each other.

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12

6. Fun
At Kids on Track we make every effort to place volunteers in serving positions that best fit their schedule, passions and gifts. This makes it not only fun for the kids, but for the volunteers as well.

“There are diversities in gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.” I Corinthians 12: 4-6

7. Spirit of Excellence
Whenever anything is done with a spirit of excellence it honors God. A commitment to excellence at Kids on Track is imperative to us honoring God. Every team member must be fully committed to serving with excellence.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Colossians 3:23

Prayer is the essential foundation for all effective ministries, including Kid’s on Track. Before the beginning of services on Sunday morning the Kid’s on Track staff & volunteers come together and meet to pray for God’s blessing on their ministry time and the children they will minister to, as well as the families those children represent. Also, during the week, we have individuals come through the empty hallways and pray for the children and their families.

"The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.” James 5:16b “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22

When a child bites we will follow this procedure:

1. If the bite does not draw blood and is not on the face:
Babies:

  • The biter is immediately placed in a crib/playpen
  • Wash off the bite and comfort the bitten child
  • If the child has just been soft-mouthed, there is no need to call the parent unless the child can not be calmed down

Toddlers:

  • The biter is immediately directed to a chair, away from the other children
  • He/She is then lovingly reminded that biting is not appropriate behavior
  • Wash off the bite and comfort the bitten child

When the parents come to pick up their children, both will be told of the incident. If the bite is severe both parents will be called immediately.

Never leave a child unattended on the changing table

When changing diapers, the following procedures are to be followed in order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases:

  • Paper liners and gloves are available at all diapering stations. A clean paper liner is to be placed on the changing pad to provide a barrier between the infant and the pad.
  • A clean pair of gloves must be worn for each diaper change.
  • Use the diaper wipes provided by the church. Do not use wipes from a child’s diaper bag unless specifically requested by the parent.
  • When a diaper change is complete, dispose of the paper liner, gloves, and diaper in the appropriate receptacle.
  • Wash your hands.
  • Mark the time the child was changed on his/her information card

Note: Men are exempt from changing diapers or assisting toddlers in the bathroom. Also, every child/class must be accompanied by two adults for every potty break. No exceptions.

Diapering is an important part of meeting the physical needs of babies and toddlers while they are in our care. Every child should have at least one diaper change during each ministry hour they are with us. This communicates that we care and parents appreciate having their child go home in a clean, dry diaper.

Cleaning cloths are available in each nursery room.

Any toy that has been mouthed or spit up on during ministry time should be placed in the basket below the counter until it can be disinfected.

After each ministry time, the following equipment must be disinfected:

Large equipment
Changing stations
Toys
Swing trays
Crib mattresses

A dish washer is located in the nursery snack room. Any toys that will not hold water should be placed on the counter to be run through a wash load. You are not responsible for running the wash load. This will be done during the week by a staff
member.

After disinfectant wipes are used, toys should be given an ample amount of time to completely dry before children are allowed to play with them.
